Professional expertise: Masters degree in Osteopathy (M.Ost), British School of Osteopathy. Registered with the General Osteopathic Council. Qualifications in sports massage and medical acupuncture.
Karen worked as a sports massage therapist before her interest in running and exercise, and a desire to learn more about the human body, led her to osteopathy. Graduating from the British School of Osteopathy, Karen won the R K Hardy prize for her dissertation on the working relationships between osteopaths and physiotherapists. Since qualifying in 2015 she has practiced osteopathy in Greenwich and North Kent within the NHS and in private osteopathy clinics, gaining experience in treating a wide range of conditions from low back pain, to neck and shoulder issues, sports injuries, headaches and pregnancy/post-natal related pain.
She has a calm and reassuring approach and makes every effort to make people feel at ease. An initial appointment lasts at least an hour which she believes is essential to get to know her patients and take the time to explain everything. Along with her desire to get patients out of pain, she helps with pain management and likes to educate and help people to understand their bodies.
Karen loves the endless learning that osteopathy provides and seeing people recover from many long-standing pain issues. She undertakes a minimum of 30 hours of professional development per year and keeps up to date with current evidence-based practice which she incorporates into her treatment.
