We are excited to be bringing some new classes to Greenwich Fitness & Pilates this New Year.
Developed in the early twentieth century by accomplished boxer and gymnast Joseph Pilates, the Pilates Method — named by many lifestyle and fitness magazines the hottest workout of the decade — aligns the body, builds long, lean muscles, and develops core abdominal strength.”Intense enough to engage seasoned athletes yet gentle enough to alleviate chronic pain and help prevent/heal injuries.”
These classes are created by a dancer for dancers and are tailored to fit their needs.
These classes are for those with Pilates experience. This class will focus on moves from the classical repertoire of over 30 advanced exercises; the Classical Mat. Your core strength will be challenged as well as your coordination, control, balance and overall strength. These exercises are considered to be the very essence of the Pilates Method. We do not suggest these classes if you suffer from any back or neck pain.
Are you struggling to cope with the below? Women’s Health Pilates can help.
- Separation of your tummy muscles
- Bladder and Bowel dysfunction
- Chronic Pelvic Pain

- Pelvic organ prolapse
- Postnatal

Yoga for Athletes
Do you regularly run, jog, cycle or play sports? Yoga is a great accompaniment to these activities, balancing the effect of repetitive actions by lengthening shortened and overused muscles and also strengthening underused muscles.
