The workshop is for Mothers without their babies and is designed to support those Mamas who have met the 6 month post-natal period and beyond. When the dust has settled, the visitors have waned, the lack of sleep has started to take its toll and your resources are at a somewhat low ebb. Being guided through gentle yet potent, heart-opening yoga asana, mindful breathing and meditation you will be therapeutically supported to find emotional balance, peace and a renewed sense of self.

While the movement practice will support a post-natal body, the class will be a holistic offering, with much emphasis on the emotional aspect of your recent transition into becoming a new mother, or mother of a growing family. It is for anyone who has a baby, toddler or other children who feels the need for self-care and has experienced the loss-of-self that can accompany this love filled rollercoaster that parenting takes you on.

Esmelou is a mother of 3 - most recently of a baby boy. A yoga teacher and also a music therapist with experience working with children and adults alike in challenging phases of their lives. Esmelou has a commitment to supporting other mothers who like herself have experienced both the exquisite joys and also the darker moments of pregnancy and motherhood. Esmelou will endeavour to create a safe and nurturing space for you to take a little time to rebuild, refocus and return to your family after class with a spring in your step.

So leave your little ones with family or friends and join other like minded mothers for an hour or so of blissful peace and self-care.

TBA 2pm - 3.30pm with Anya Hayes £20.00 - Booking Essential - button (002) Market Studios, Durnford Street, Greenwich Market

Join Anya Hayes for a monthly Pilates workshop for postnatal rehabilitation. This 90 minute workshop focuses on breathing, alignment and pelvic floor awareness in functional daily movement, releasing tension and finding your deep inner strength. It is suitable if you're suffering from diastasis recti, and if you've been diagnosed with prolapse. Babies welcome.

Find out how to connect to your centre in your day to day activities rather than trying to make extra time for 'pelvic floor exercise'. Rebuild your foundations to feel more energised in your mothering day. We'll finish with a guided meditation to leave you relaxed, soothed, energised and uplifted. There will also be a Q&A – a safe space to share all queries and wonderings – at the end of the session.

Anya Hayes is a Pilates teacher specialising in pregnancy and postnatal recovery. She is the author of several books around Pilates and pregnancy, and perinatal mental health.@mothers.wellness.toolkit The Supermum MythPregnancy: The Naked TrutMothers Wellness Toolkit
