What is mindfulness?
Mindfulness is simply paying attention to what is happening in the here and now (your thoughts, emotions and sensations) in a non-judgemental way. With practice, mindfulness can be become a very powerful tool to help cope with life’s stresses and strains.
Greenwich Fitness and Pilates has teamed up with Rabiya McKeverne, Founder of Spring Coaching and Training to bring mindfulness taster sessions and more in-depth Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course.
The Mindfulness Taster Session

During this session, you will gain a basic understanding of
what mindfulness is (and is not)
the various benefits of mindfulness
the neuroscience and research on how mindfulness works and
most importantly get an experience of some mindfulness practices.
All participants will be given access to audio recordings of the mindfulness practices practiced after the session.
The Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course - 8 Weeks
Thursday 7pm - 9pm £240.00 per person

MBSR is the most recognised and established mindfulness course, taught all over the world, and scientifically proven to help people cope better with stress, depression and anxiety. In the UK, the National Institute of Care Excellence (NICE) has recommended mindfulness as a way to prevent depression and anxiety. This eight-week life-skills course combines experiential mindfulness practices with the latest tools and techniques of neuroscience, psychology and the study of well-being. It will include mindfulness meditation practices, gentle stretching and movement, group dialogue and discussion, individually tailored instructions and home assignments. The course consists of eight, two-hour sessions spread over 8 weeks. This more in-depth course is ideal for those who committed to incorporating mindfulness into their every day lives. This course can truly be life changing!

Rabiya is passionate about mindfulness. She has worked as a coach and trainer for the last 10 years and has been practicing mindfulness for 20 years now. Her mission is to bring mindfulness to a greater audience with a particular emphasis on bringing more self-compassion into one’s life. With her skills, qualifications, experience and passion she is the ideal teacher to introduce mindfulness and help support you into integrating mindfulness into your everyday life.
