Ellie's Running Mummies is a Mummies and buggies postnatal fitness session.
Greenwich Park - Tuesday 10.15am. Meet by the Bandstand
Ellie Brown has been running aerobic fitness classes for Mummies and their buggies for over five years. She has become the area's most specialised pre and postnatal fitness instructor. The classes are an hour long and begin with a power walk warm-up followed by a series of lunges & squats. During the session she will intergrate power walking with light running using the hills in Greenwich Park to add resistance and strength to the session! The classes finish with some floor exercises which focuses on those troublesome bums, tums and pelvic floor!
Running Mummies takes into account all aspects of the various post-natal stages and new Mums will be well looked after.

"When can I start?" - We advise you to join us after your six week check, for a natural birth, and eight week check for a cesarean. If you are in any doubt, please consult your doctor before you resume any sort of exercise.
"What kind of buggy do I need?" - Any buggy or pushchair as long as it is in working order. We advise bringing a pump for those big tyres and if you would like some advice on pushchairs, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I recommend these buggies for those of you who are serious about running with a buggy.

Mountain Buggy Urban. www.mountainbuggy.com"Do I have to run?" - We do not advise running immediatly after the birth of your baby. It is important to start exercising slowly and we suggest you begin by power walking. If running is not your thing - that is still ok, just keep power walking and power talking!
"What if it is raining?" - Running Mummies takes place in all weathers - rain or shine. The only circumstances we may have to cancel is heavy snow or gale force winds. If we do have to cancel a class we will put the details up on the website.
"Do I need equipment?" - Just a towel, blanket or groundsheet for all those abdominal exercises!
"How old should my baby be?" - We accept all shapes and sizes! Six/eight weeks for new-borns; some of our Running Babies are now two years old.
